Week 3 Day 4: Thinking Christ's thoughts

Living in God’s Word, the Bible, is the primary source of your knowledge about Christ. The Word reveals His truth. As you hold to, or remain in the Word, He speaks to you through the Holy Spirit. One of the Holy Spirit’s roles is to show you the truth. His truth sets the enslaved mind free. John 8:31-32 says, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

It is important to understand that being a worldly Christian holds you back from being all God wants you to be. The ability to think Christ’s thoughts is crucial to your life in the Spirit. Allowing Christ-honoring thoughts to replace worldly, fleshly thoughts is a challenge for most Christians. The Holy Spirit is with you to help you renew your mind. You do not have to be a victim of Satan’s efforts to have you adopt his destructive attitudes. Satan is defeated when you push his thoughts out of your mind and replace them with those that please Christ.

Daily Thoughts: What did you get from today’s study?

Have you established steps to help renew your mind daily?

  1. Steps to renewing my mind daily:
    1. Start my day off with praying and reading my bible.
    2. Constantly be praying throughout the day and thinking about what I read that morning, applying it to my life.
    3. Watching, listening, reading things and hanging out with friends that would please God.
    4. End my day with prayer and reading my bible.
