Doing God’s will depends on committing your whole personality to God. Even when you commit yourself to God, you soon discover that doing His will is not easy. You need to have faith to know God’s will though the leading of the Holy Spirit.
God Provides the Way
Read and really think about the words and message in 1 John 2:15-17
“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world – the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does – comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”
Your sinful nature keeps you from doing God’s will. There may be other factors in your life that contribute to this behavior – you may live in an environment which is full of sin, or your family may not honor Christ. But, you have a choice about whether to do God’s will. Your sinful nature is the primary culprit that causes you to refuse to listen to the Holy Spirit and decline to do God’s will.
Daily Thoughts: What did you get from today’s study?

this is deffinately something i struggle with each day.
ReplyDeletelike i struggle with listening to gossip.
but God has helped me a lot more with it, and ive noticed now because God has really pointed it out to me.
I agree listening to gossip is probably something all girls struggle with....for some reason it just draws us in... I think our minds are wired to be interested in other people, but we need to be able to understand the difference between gossip and genuine concern for others. I'm starting to realize that gossip isn't just 'talking' and 'listening' anymore, its facebook, myspace, formspring and other ways that pull us into other people's business that really isn't God honoring... So, anyway, I think this is one of my biggest challenges as well, and what I try to do is make sure that when I hear or read things that are a form of gossip that I take the opportunity to pray about the situation.
ReplyDeleteI think the biggest factor in my life would have to be just the way I spend my time. I have to be super careful with the way I spend my time and making sure the majority of it is in the Word and praying. I notice when I don't do that, THAT'S the point I seem to mess up. When I would rather get on facebook, or talk on the phone or paint my nails or toss the volleyball around with my dad or driving, or really anything! Just keeping my priorites in time straight!
