As a Christian, we have the goal of thinking and acting from the mind of Christ. In Philippians 2:5 Paul said, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”
If you think Christ’s thoughts, you try to see things as Christ would, and you let Him, not Satan, be the master of your mind. You make your thoughts obedient to Christ, and you think spiritually.
Romans 8:5-6 says “Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of the sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.”
You can make Christ the master of your mind by removing all obstacles to your knowledge of God, by making every thought obedient to Christ, by possessing the mind of Christ, and by renewing your mind. To renew your mind, you begin filling your mind with Scriptures to replace bad thoughts with good thoughts. The more you live in the Word, the more your mind will be renewed.
Do not let your mind linger on evil thoughts; instead, think about wholesome things, such as God’s Word. When you realize that you are having worldly thoughts, think of them as red, flashing emergency lights that warn you to turn your thoughts to spiritual things. In Philippians 4:8, it says to think of things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy.
Daily Thoughts: What did you get from today’s study?
What scripture do you think of when you need to renew your mind? Or, what things are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy that you can equip your mind with as a weapon against evil thoughts?

Things are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy that you can equip your mind with as a weapon against evil thoughts are movies, tv shows, music, books and friends that are just that. Every little thing plays into your thoughts, and Tom has talked about that for the past couple of weeks. I actually think about Philippians 4:6-8 when my mind wanders. It is the same verse, but just a little more before verse 8. If I'm starting to think things I shouldn't, I stop and pray for forgiveness and for strength, and also for new, Godly thoughts.
